Engagement Innovation Grants
The Engagement Incentive Fund has been established to provide financial support for initiatives that will be planned and implemented collaboratively by QUT faculties/divisions/institutes and external partners.
External partners (or community) can be identified, in the broadest sense, as including business, industry, government, non–government organisations and broader community groups, both local and global.
Funding is provided in the form of annual Engagement Innovation Grants. QUT’s Engagement Innovation Grants are awarded for small to medium sized projects ($10,000 to $30,000 per project) which advance a minimum of two QUT Engagement Goals:
- Contributing to the University’s research, teaching and learning through strengthened engagement with external stakeholders;
- Developing QUT’s capability and capacity in engagement practice;
- Ensuring that engagement is supported by systems, policies, practices and governance arrangements across the University in the faculties, divisions and institutes.
- Reinforcing and strengthening a strong spirit of accessibility, vibrancy and community in QUT and its campuses.
Projects should seek to develop and sustain collaborative approaches with one or more members of the community; deliver measurable benefits to QUT, it’s partner/s and the broader community; and strive for outcomes that could be sustained beyond the life of the grant.
A total of $150,000 is available for projects in the 2010 funding round.
Expressions of interest are now invited from staff for the 2010 Engagement Innovation Grants.
Process
The Engagement Innovation Grants process consists of an Expression of Interest round and a Full Application round. Proposals (EOIs) which best meet the funding priorities and assessment criteria will be invited to submit a full application in the second round in March. Applicants will be advised accordingly on the outcome of their EOI.
**Expressions of Interest are due by 5pm, Thursday 18 February 2010**
