QUT provides support services for all international students. These services are primarily carried out by International Student Services (ISS) and include academic and personal counselling, accommodation and employment assistance, university orientation, airport reception, language and learning advice, as well as trips and activities.

QUT is committed to assisting international students to adjust to life and study at an Australian university and helping students to resolve problems they might have with their study program.

Grievance procedures

International students should be referred to an International Student Adviser at ISS as the first point of call for confidential advice. The QUT Manual of Policies and Procedures provides for grievance procedures at QUT, including guidelines for the QUT Student Ombudsman.

East West programs

All students at QUT are encouraged to join in activities aimed at promoting cross-cultural understanding and friendships among the diverse population of students at QUT. These are coordinated through the East West Centre.
