QUT maintains the standards of its research degrees through an examination process which relies on external examiners. The processes which candidates for research degrees must follow are prescribed by the university.
These processes include:
- The thesis examination process - the nomination of examiners, PhD candidates' final seminar, and the award of the degree
- The requirements for presenting theses, including length, formatting, paper, layout, printing, copying, binding and lodgement of copies of the thesis.
These processes are outlined, and the appropriate forms provided, in PhD under examination.
