QUT graduates get jobs. Courses are specifically structured to maximise job prospects with real-world emphasis and industry connections.
In designing our courses we seek advice from industry, government and the professions. This means we build opportunities to apply real-world learning, projects and placements into your study. Teaching staff include practising professionals who lecture and tutor part-time, bringing the boardroom into the classroom.
Careers and Employment offers all the information you need on career planning and job hunting, and helps you prepare and apply for that important first job.
QUT offers double degrees that allow you to complete two degrees in a shorter timeframe, giving you two areas of expertise and makes you a competitive force in the job market.
The Graduate Destinations Survey is a great way to find out where a degree from QUT can take you. Check where recent graduates are employed and what salary they started on.
Course and career matching
Match your skills and career goals through Studyfinder, QUT's course and career information database.
Real-world career development
QUT's Career Mentor Scheme provides an opportunity for QUT students to forge a relationship with an industry professional for the duration of the university year. A mentor acts as a guide, a source of information, and a sounding board for students, offering guidance and encouragement in their chosen field of expertise.
The Cooperative Education Program is a joint venture between employers and educators to better prepare students for employment after graduation. Students have the opportunity to undertake 10-12 months of paid industry employment within their Information Technology degree.
Work-integrated learning is an integral component of curriculum at QUT. All undergraduate courses provide the opportunity for students to undertake various forms of work-integrated learning during their course, including work experience in industry and professional workplaces, at least as an elective. This gives students the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge, develop and consolidate skills, and develop an understanding of the relevant profession or related sectors in a real-world environment.
The QUT Student e-Portfolio is an innovative way to help you collate your achievements and display them to prospective employers online.
